Father, Husband, Engineer, Cocktail Aficionado.
Brian Crescimanno is someone who thinks writing about himself in the third person sounds quite pretentious so he’s going to stop….now.
I’m a guy from Atlanta, GA who’s been building web sites and applications since the “good old days” of the mid-1990′s. After working for several companies in the Atlanta area, I migrated to Boston for a year as a Principal UI Engineer at Brightcove, a company doing great work delivering professional quality web video. In late 2010, I moved to California and joined Netflix; affectionately known to many Americans as the company that delivers DVDs in red envelopes through the mail; and most of the rest of the world as “that movie and tv streaming service we wish we had” (and now Canadians and Latin Americans do!) At Netflix, I work in the TV platforms group building HTML5 based Netflix experiences for various connected devices (such as game consoles, blu ray players, TVs, etc.)
Aside from the usual video games, photography, movies, television, and other diversions that most engineers occupy themselves with, I’m also a cocktail and mixology enthusiast with a home bar of around 75 bottles and I try to mix a new cocktail every night (a task that’s become increasingly difficult). Happily, I limit myself to a single libation so as not to turn into “that guy.”
In 2010, I married my then-girlfriend-of-five-years Heather, and in February 2011, our son Lucas was born. I thoroughly enjoy my work; but nothing I’ve ever done as an engineer can compare to becoming a father.
